3621074 - Error "The status not changed as Workflow for XXX is in progress or applicable" when releasing WBS Element

A "Release of Enterprise Project" workflow is created in "Manage Workflows for Enterprise Project" app. However, when attempting to release the project partially by releasing a specific WBS element, error "The status not changed as Workflow for XXX is in progress or applicable" appears.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Navigate to the "Manage Workflows for Enterprise Projects" app
2. Create a workflow using scenario WS01800247 Enterprise Project - Status Change Approval
3. Login as the user that is the workflow approver
4. Navigate to a particular WBS element in "Project Planning" app
5. Release the WBS element, encounter "The status not changed as Workflow for XXX is in progress or applicable" error.

When a workflow is active, the project must first be approved before a WBS element can be released.

• WBS approval workflow is not supported currently. The workflow available is for the release of the entire enterprise project and not for individual WBS elements. So the project needs to be released first in order to release the WBS Elements.
• For WBS workflow approval please submit a feature request via the Customer Influence Portal.
