3622234 - Exchange rate calculation when using Indirect Quoted Exchange Rate- SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

Exchange rate calculation picking wrong at the time invoice posting

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Resolution

When maintaining the Indirect Quoted Exchange Rate in SSCUI 102611 – Define Standard Quotation for Exchange Rates, the exchange rate reflects the amount of the "from" currency for a specific unit (such as 10, 100, etc.) of the "to" currency. In other words, the exchange rate amount is multiplied by the "from" currency.

For instance, in the app Currency Exchange Rates:

  • Exchange Rate Type: M (Standard translation at average rate)
From Currency: USD (United States Dollar)
    Exchange Rate: 0.7
    Rate (In Ratio 1:1) 0.7
    Valid From: 06/06/2025
    To Currency: CAD (Canadian Dollar)
    Ratio1 : 1
    Quotation: Indirect

This means: 0.7 * USD = 1 CAD

Ensure that this configuration is not inverted.
