Symptom
This document covers the most common questions regarding Customer Data Cloud integration with SuccessFactors Recruiting.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
- SAP Customer Data Cloud
Resolution
- Is extra licensing needed for SAP Customer Data Cloud when the external authentication feature is enabled?
- SAP Customer Data Cloud requires no additional license.
- Does SuccessFactors take care of the costs for SMS messages sent to external candidates?
- As SMS messaging isn't part of SuccessFactors main functions, you would have to get a subscription from an SMS provider separately and link it to the system. SuccessFactors doesn't join in your contract or discussion with the SMS provider, so you sign up and purchase from them independently. Here's where you can find the list of supported SMS providers.
- What SMS providers can be used to enable the feature?
- Recruiting currently supports only Sinch as the SMS provider, while SAP Customer Data Cloud (CDC) supports Twilio, Livelink, Inch, and Karaden by default. It's best to use Sinch for consistency and to prevent issues. Even though you can technically use different SMS providers at the CDC and Recruiting levels, this might lead to extra costs for the Customer because of having multiple providers.
- Is Quick Apply supported with Candidate Authentication Using SAP Customer Data Cloud?
- Quick Apply is technically possible, but it makes a two-step process as after the Candidate finishes Two Factor Authentication, they are sent to the Profile page instead of the Job Application page. The Quick Apply integration is under review, and improvements will be made in future updates.
- Can CDC be turned off after it has been turned on? What could happen if it is disabled?
- It's not advised to disable CDC authentication. This feature helps keep candidate passwords securely managed by SAP Customer Data Cloud. But if you later disable CDC, candidates who set up their accounts while CDC was on won't have their password info stored in Recruiting anymore. They'll need to reset their passwords to log into Career Site. Candidates who signed up with a phone number won't be able to log in unless they provided an email address during account setup. After giving an email, they must reset their password using that email to access their account.
- What steps are needed to set up the Authenticator App as the verification method?
- What steps need to be taken to add Social Login providers?
- When CDC is turned on, Social Login providers aren't available by default. SAP SuccessFactors has approved three social login providers: Facebook, Google, and LinkedIn. Here's the document you can refer to add the Social Login providers.
- Are candidates asked for 2FA when they create an account using Social login providers?
- Yes, when configured, candidates are prompted for 2FA during account creation via Social login.
- Does 2FA apply to existing candidates or just new candidates?
- This applies to all candidates. Existing candidates use their current password for the first step, and then Two-factor authentication is needed to log in.
- Is it possible to enable CDC in Sovereign Cloud and NS2 Data centers?
- Currently, it's not available.
- How can I find out which CDC Data Center is linked to my SuccessFactors Data Center?
- What downstream processes are impacted by phone login, since some processes need an email?
- Does the data migration process cover both Internal and External Candidates?
- Only External Candidates
- What emails are sent from SAP Customer Data Cloud?
- Password Reset and Activation URLs
- After migration, where can I update the Email templates or SMS?
- The emails that are sent from CDC should be managed in SAP Customer Data Cloud console.
- How can I access the SAP Customer Data Cloud Console?
- How do we proceed if there is an error in the data migration?
- Raise a ticket to Product Support team.
- Is the Admin notified when the migration is completed?
- Yes. A notification is sent to the Admin.
- Can authentication be done with National ID, allowing our external career site to connect to a government authentication portal and auto-sign candidates into their profiles, like with ID Austria or EU Login?
- It's not possible
- What is the suggested method for Identity Verification?
- Code verification - Here
- Where can I edit the Email Templates after the migration?
- Email templates are edited in the Customer Data Cloud console - Here
