3623100 - Unable to upload image to server directly in custom card after 1H2025 release

Symptom

  • Before 1H2025 release, the image could be uploaded directly to the server in Manage Home page > Organizational Update, and the URL could be retrieved by "Show Source code".
  • After 1H2025 standardized RTE (Rich Text Editor) release, the option to upload image is not available anymore.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Manage Home page.
  2. Attempt to manage the latest organizational update.
  3. Try to add/edit a card.
  4. Attempt to attach an image to the card.
  5. Verify the image URL in "View Source code".

Cause

The 1H2025 release standardized the Rich Text Editor (RTE), some less critical options aren't available in the SAP editor yet. Refer to the following release note: Updated and Standardized Rich Text Editor

Resolution

In order to retrieve the image URL, follow below workaround:

  1. Use the Manage Document feature to upload images to Company document > Image.  And then you would use "Insert Document Link" in custom card to obtain the image URL.
    If the Insert Document Link option is unavailable due to the Onboarding module being inactive, raise a separate ticket for file submission to SAP Support.

  2. Request SAP support to host the image to server and generate the image link URL.
