3623195 - Excel crashes when opening the SAC Add-in workbook created in another SAC system

• The SAC add-in workbook developed in the an SAC system (for example, hcs.cloud.sap) crashes Excel when opened in another system with a different domain (for example, sapanalytics.cloud) via the admin managed SAC add-in.
• The workbook opens in Protected View, and Excel crashes upon clicking "Enable Editing" to exit Protected View.
• The issue occurs before signing into the Excel add-in.
• The issue happens only with workbooks that contain SAP formulas.

SAP Analytics Cloud, add-in for Microsoft Excel

1. Develop the SAC add-in workbook in an SAC system on the user deployed SAC add-in.
2. Change the SAC domain of the workbook to the another SAC system with a different domain.
3. Open the SAC add-in workbook via the admin deployed SAC add-in.
4. The workbook opens in Protected View.
5. Click "Enable Editing" to exit Protected View.
6. Excel crashes.

We had many issues regarding usage of workbooks created/used with Office Add-in coming from different sources in the past.
This is a pure Microsoft issue and problems are becoming less frequent now.

When issue occurs, please perform the following steps on the computer facing the problem:

1. open the concerned workbook in Excel
2. select the menu 'File / Info'
3. click on 'Check for Issues' and select 'Inspect Document'
4. answer Yes to the message
5. in the Document Inspector window, click on 'Inspect' button
6. for 'Task Pane Add-ins', click on 'Remove All' button
7. click on 'Close' button
8. save the workbook
9. close Excel

After these steps you should be able to use the workbook with the formulas.

Please note that the same issue may happen again if the SAC system of the SAC add-in workbook is changed to a different origin.
