3624485 - Export function via xlsx or words does not work in Report Module

Symptom

  • Export function via xlsx or word file does not work in the Report Module.
  • After report exported as an xlsx file, it cannot be opened.

Environment

SAP CPQ

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Setup in CPQ
  2. Enter in Report Module and check any report
  3. View the report and try to export it with xlsx or word.

    Cause

    • Illegal xlsx character is causing issue with opening xlsx or docx file
    • There are some unrecognizable character that cannot be processed by excel or word causing an error.

    Resolution

    Issue is related to one line of the report containing some character not possible to be processed. It is important to identify on the report if there is anything pulling data from free form field (quote comments, for example), where an user can copy-paste and get the bad state in a specific quote of that report.

    If you cannot identify, please raise a case to CPQ Support Team.
