3624597 - System does not Prompt for Mandatory Serial Number During Creation of Supplier Delivery Notification

Product PROD1(where PROD1 is the product ID) has Serial Number Profile as "Mandatory on all logistic and production processes". 

However while creating the Supplier Delivery Notification IDN1(where IDN1 is the  Supplier Delivery Notification), the system does not prompt for mandatory serial numbers in the Serial Number Tab.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Inbound Logistics workcenter and Inbound Delivery Notifications view.
2. Find and select Delivery Notification ID IDN1
3. Go to Line Items tab and go to Serial Numbers sub tab.
4. Without maintaining any serial number perform Save action.
5. You will notice that the Delivery Notification IDN1 is saved without any errors or warnings.

Inbound Delivery Notification is purely informational and serves as a notification of incoming goods.

All stock-related activities, including inventory updates are handled at the warehouse order level. The actual stock management and adjustments are performed based on the warehouse order processing. 

This is the standard system behavior.
