3625144 - Custom fields listed as Display Options display with empty values in the Latest Workbench.

Symptom

In the Latest Workbench, values for Custom Fields that are configured as display options, are not visible unless you click into the Application then back to the Display Options page.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Click into the Latest Workbench view of a Job Requisition
  2. Identify a Custom field that is configured as a display options, and review the values provided for Applicants.
  3. Some values appear, some values are left empty.
  4. For those applicants who have an empty value, you can click into their Application to verify that the value is there.
  5. Once you click back to the display options page, the value now appears without issue for that Candidate.

Cause

This has been identified as an expected behaviour of the new Redesigned Workbench by Engineering.

The reason why this behaviour happens is because the Candidate Snapshot has not been taken yet on the affected Applications showing this behaviour. Custom field values visible in the application list page for UXR are coming from the SOLR server.

If the snapshot is not created, SOLR does not have any value for custom fields in the application, which leads to this behaviour.

Resolution

Once the Candidate snapshot is created on an affected Application, the values should appear in the Display Options view of the Latest Workbench.

Note: The legacy workbench is not using SOLR, but instead is retrieving values from the Hana DataBase, where this value is actually already stored. This would explain why the same behaviour is not observed on the Legacy Workbench.
