Symptom

In SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Data Analyzer, the "Wrap Text" option displays inconsistent behavior across different reports. In one report, the option can be enabled and remains active after saving, while in another, it does not stay enabled once the report is saved

Resolution

To ensure consistent behavior of the "Wrap Text" option in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Data Analyzer, it is recommended to disable the "Adaptive Column Width" setting.

Disabling this option allows manual adjustment of column widths, which is more suitable for displaying wrapped text effectively.

The wrap setting can also be managed through the Optimized Design Experience (ODE) within a story. When Data Analyzer is launched from a story using the three-dot menu, and the wrap option is already enabled in the story, it will remain active upon opening the report in Data Analyzer. This behavior has been validated.

However, when creating a new Data Analyzer report directly from a model (i.e., not through a story), the wrap setting is not saved by default. In such cases, it must be enabled manually each time the report is opened. Similarly, if Data Analyzer is accessed from a story where the wrap setting was not configured using the builder, the setting will not persist.

In summary, the wrap setting may not be retained if:

Data Analyzer is opened independently from a model or data source, or
It is launched from a story where the wrap option was not predefined.
