Symptom

You get an Error : “Second business partner in relationship is not valid” while uploading Accounts using Data Impex tool

Environment

SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to User Menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Go to All Settings.
  4. Go to Data Import and Export.
  5. Go to Import and Export Data.
  6. Go to Import and Click Create.
  7. Add Entity --> Account.
  8. Upload an Excel file and click Import Data.
  9. Under Tasks, you get Status as Failed and in the Error file, you get “Second business partner in relationship is not valid.” 

Cause

The employee under ownerId does not exist within this system.

For instance, an account with external_key XXXXXX is linked to the ownerId 12345678-abcd-9xyz-afdb-12345612345, and it is not present in the tenant. 

Resolution

Update the file with valid ownerId and import.
