3626398 - Error "Cannot delete cost center XXX; it is assigned to a resource (KBA: 1765566) " When Trying To Delete An Org Unit

System reports error "Cannot delete cost center XXX; it is assigned to a resource (KBA: 1765566) " when you trying to delete an org unit.

SAP Business ByDesign 

1. Go to Organizational Management work center.
2. Select Edit Org Structures.
3. Delete the relevant Org Unit.
4. Check or Activate the Org Unit.
5. Error: "Cannot delete cost center XXX; it is assigned to a resource (KBA: 1765566) ".

The cause for the issue is that the Cost Center that you are trying to delete/delimit is still being used in any Resources (Ex: Labor Resource, Equipment Resource, Vehicle Resource or Resource Group) in the system.

You need to remove the Cost Center from the Resource that referring to it.

1. Go to Supply Chain Design Master Data work center -> Resources view.
2. Select the relevant Resource.
3. Click Edit.
4. Go to Valuation tab.
5. Remove Cost Center XXX from All Cost Center Assignments.
6. Add a new Cost Center YYY for the Resource.
7. Save and close.
8. Now go to Organizational Management work center -> Org Structures view.
9. Select the relevant Org Unit and Edit.
10. Delete the Org Unit.
11. Activate the deletion.
