3626563 - Candidate skills not being fetched from resume in career site's profile section under Skills field

Symptom

Skills are not being extracted from the candidate's uploaded resume into their profile, despite the new AI feature being enabled.

This AI-powered system is designed to analyze resumes, highlight key skills, and recommend the best-matching roles available on the career site. Candidates should be able to see how their skills align with job requirements through the Skills Cloud, which presents matching skills for enhanced clarity and transparency. However, despite maintaining all the necessary settings, the skills are not being pulled.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to the test career site.
  2. Search for the job requisition using the provided requisition ID.
  3. Click on "Apply Now" for the job requisition.
  4. Log in using the provided credentials.
  5. Upload a sample resume.
  6. Observe that the "skills" section does not populate in the candidate profile.

Cause

The configuration option "Allow Applicants to Manually Add Skills" was not enabled in the AI Services Administration screen under the Recruiting section.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to the Admin Center in SAP SuccessFactors.
  2. Go to "AI Services Administration."
  3. Under the "Recruiting" section, enable the option "Allow Applicants to Manually Add Skills."
  4. Save the changes.
  5. Verify that the "skills" section now appears and that parsing of skills from resumes is functioning correctly.
