3626750 - Multiple Parties Can be Saved on Opportunity despite Restrictions

Symptom

After adding the unique flag to any role for Opportunities, it is still possible to save two of the same role despite the error message.

Environment

SAP Sales Cloud Version 2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open an Opportunity with an Employee added with Role XYZ
  2. Add another Employee with the same Role and save
  3. A warning message is shown but the data is still saved

Cause

The flags Mandatory and/or Unique merely control whether an error message shall be issued when number of instances for a given party role falls below or exceeds a limit. It is the same logic as in Sales Cloud V1 and does not control whether a transaction is allowed to be saved or not. 

Resolution

This is the expected behaviour of the system.
