3626961 - Temporary Work Schedule Alerts Not Triggered When Changes Are Made via Workbench

Symptom

An alert rule has been assigned to the TemporaryTimeInformation object as a Post Save Rule. However, temporary time information alerts are not working as expected.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Time Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Administer Time Off > Work Schedule

  2. Add a new Temporary Work Schedule

  3. Click Save

  4. Observe that Alert Notifications are not triggered

Cause

  • The alert workflow is configured using user-based roles (e.g., Manager, Self) in both the Approver and CC roles.

  • In such configurations, alerts will not be triggered if the "Subject User Field" is left blank in the Temporary Time Information object definition.

Resolution

To ensure alerts are triggered correctly:

  1. Navigate to Configure Object Definitions > Temporary Time Information

  2. Set the "Subject User Field" to userId

    • Note: The field is case-sensitive. Please use exact casing (userId).

  3. Create an alert rule with the following parameters:

    • Rule Scenario: Rules for MDF Based Objects

    • Purpose: Alert

    • Base Object: Temporary Time Information

    • Execute Rule Function: Trigger MDF Alert Event

This configuration ensures alerts are triggered correctly when changes are made to Temporary Work Schedules via the Workbench.
