Reproducing the Issue
Reference sales order XXXX
Prerequiiste: Promotion YY is created for a Product PPPP, where YY stands for the Promotion ID and PPPP stands for Product ID. This promotion has the validity period 01-04-2025 to unlimited.
- Create a sales order on 1st June 2025.
- Go to sales work center.
- Go to Sales Order work center .
- Create Sales order. XXXX is the Sales order ID created, where XXXX stands as sales order.
- Use 'Add Products' action to add products PPPP to the sales order XXXX.
- Save and open the Sales order.
- Go to Promotion facet.
- Promotion YY is added automatically assigned to the sales order item.
- Attempt to remove or delete the promotion from the sales order item.
- You are unable to remove / delete Promotion.
Cause
- Promotion YY has validity from 01.04.2025 to unlimited time. It has the product PPPP listed into it.
- Sales order XXXX has creation date of 19-06-25 and it has the product PPPP. Hence this promotion is valid and applied in sales order automatically and will not be allowed to delete.
Resolution
This is the standard and expected behaviour. If a promoted product (which is part of an active promotion) is added in sales order, then the promotion is determined and added automatically. This cannot be removed/ deleted.
Note in C4C:
-
- If a promoted product is added in sales order, then the promotion(within validity period) is determined and added automatically.
- If the pricing date of the order falls within the promotion date range of the promotion, then the promotion will be determined automatically.
