Symptom
- In the administration console for SAP Cloud Identity Services (IAS), there is a need to change an IAS user's password policy from Enterprise or Custom back to Standard.
- In IAS, there are three types of password policies as explained in Configuring Password Policies. They are listed below from weakest to strongest:
- Standard
- Enterprise
- Custom
- When an IAS user authenticates to an application requiring a stronger password policy, their IAS user will be assigned and must follow that stronger password policy.
- In the IAS administration console, there is no manual way to change a user's password policy back to a weaker policy, like Standard.
- This KBA explains how to change an IAS user's password policy back to Standard using the Identity Directory API-Overview.
