3627880 - Manage Posting Periods (F2293) allows for period locking by GL Account for CO-processes - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

Even the Normal periods and CO-Related periods are closed in Manage Posting Periods(F2293), the CO transactions can still be posted. 

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Close the Normal period and CO-Related period in F2293 Manage Posting Periods
  2. Open the period for all business transaction types in F4684 Manage Posting Periods - Cost Accounting
  3. The posting with transaction type i.e. ACAA can be posted, however, posting with transaction type i.e. RKU1 is blocked.

Cause

The "Manage Posting Periods" app (F2293) allows for period locking by GL Account for CO-processes, while the "Manage Posting Periods - Cost Accounting" app (F4684) enables period locking by Business Transaction Types.

Following business transaction types check solely period locks maintained in the "Manage Posting Periods - Cost Accounting" app (F4684):

  • ACAA - Univ. Allocation CC Act. Assm.
  • ACAD - Univ. Allocation CC Act. Dist.
  • APAA - Univ. Allocation PC Act. Assm.
  • APAD - Univ. Allocation PC Act. Dist.
  • AMAA - Univ. Allocation PA Act. Assm.
  • AMAD - Univ. Allocation PA Act. Dist.
  • ACAC - Univ. Alloc. CC Act. ICO

Following business transaction types check always period locks maintained in the apps "Manage Posting Periods" (F2293) and "Manage Posting Periods - Cost Accounting" (F4684). 

  • KAMV    Manual Cost Allocation
  • RKL      Actual Activity Allocation
  • RKU1    Repost Costs
  • RKU2    Repost Revenue
  • RKU3    Repost CO Line Items

For these business transactions type, it is important to ensure that both apps are maintained in sync when opening and closing fiscal periods.

Resolution

Maintain the posting periods in both apps, F4684 and F2293, to ensure they remain in sync.
