Symptom
- A report launched with Analysis for Office takes longer and longer to refresh each time it is refreshed.
Reproducing the Issue
- Launch a report with Analysis for Office.
- Refresh the report multiple times.
- Observe the increasing time taken for each refresh.
Cause
- Excel gets slower when AO uses the Excel API to render the crosstabs.
- The workbook contains many shape objects (356 shapes).
- The property "Formats" is disabled for both crosstabs, causing Excel to take a long time to do the formatting.
Resolution
- Enable the "Formats" property for both crosstabs in the workbook.
- Delete all shape objects from all sheets in the workbook.
- Test the workbook to verify improved refresh times:
