3628005 - Diagram Size Warning Occurs in Editor

Symptom

When saving a diagram, the user encounters a warning stating that the diagram exceeds width or height limits: Diagram is too large. (Desired value: DIN A4; found: The diagram width and height exceed the maximum).

"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."

Resolution

To address the diagram size warning triggered by modeling convention rule 5.1 (Usage of restricted diagram size), one of the following options can be applied based on the modeling requirements.

Please note: Only workspace administrators have the permissions to modify modeling rules and diagram size restrictions.

Option 1: Increase the Allowed Diagram Size

    1. Navigate to Setup > Define notations/attributes > Modeling Rules in Explorer.

    2. Locate the rule for restricted diagram size (titled 5.1 – Usage of restricted diagram size).

    3. Update the allowed diagram format from the current setting (e.g. A4) to a larger format such as A2 or A1.

    4. Save the changes. The warning will no longer appear if the diagram fits within the new size limit.

Option 2: Disable the Size Restriction Check

    1. Follow the same navigation path: Setup > Define notations/attributes > Modeling Rules.

    2. Locate rule 5.1 – Usage of restricted diagram size.

    3. Uncheck the option to enforce the rule.

    4. Save the changes. This will disable the warning for all diagrams that exceed the size limit.
