3628217 - Time Off Alerts Not Sent for Declined or Rejected Absences

Symptom

  • Alert rule configured to send alerts to user(s) for rejected/declined absence request
  • No alerts are received by the user upon decline of absence request

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Time Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. User submits absence request for approval
  2. Workflow approver declines absence request 
  3. Alert rule is triggered successfully
  4. No alerts received by user(s)

Cause

  • Expected Behaviour
  • Alerts will not be sent for inactive (declined or cancelled) Employee Times with the Trigger Employee Time Alert Event() function. 
  • This logic for this behaviour is to avoid sending alerts for employee times that are no longer relevant, e.g. cancelled absence.

Resolution

As a workaround to trigger notifications for user(s) in case of declined absences, use the Trigger MDF Alert Event() in the alert rule.
