Symptom
- Alert rule configured to send alerts to user(s) for rejected/declined absence request
- No alerts are received by the user upon decline of absence request
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Time Management
Reproducing the Issue
- User submits absence request for approval
- Workflow approver declines absence request
- Alert rule is triggered successfully
- No alerts received by user(s)
Cause
- Expected Behaviour
- Alerts will not be sent for inactive (declined or cancelled) Employee Times with the Trigger Employee Time Alert Event() function.
- This logic for this behaviour is to avoid sending alerts for employee times that are no longer relevant, e.g. cancelled absence.
Resolution
As a workaround to trigger notifications for user(s) in case of declined absences, use the Trigger MDF Alert Event() in the alert rule.
