3628417 - "There can be only one main assignment" warning upon adding a concurrent employment - SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

A warning message appears when adding concurrent employment: "There can be only one main assignment, which means x out of y assignments should be selected as secondary assignments."

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

1. Go to an employee profile.
2. Click Actions.
3. Select Add Concurrent Employment.
4. Fill in the form with the required details.
5. Observe the warning message that appears: There can be only one main assignment which means x out of y assignments should be selected as secondary assignments.

The warning appears upon adding concurrent employment because the user has one terminated employment that is not listed as a secondary assignment. Due to that, the system throws the validation.

Proceed with adding concurrent employment despite the warning message, as there are no further impacts on this configuration.

It is not possible to set the old employment as a secondary assignment in case it ended before the start date of the main employment.
