3629011 - Share function for Story reports is not fetching the accurate users when using the User > User Role > Select a role function

Symptom

When attempting to share a Story report using the path User > User Role > Select a Role, the system currently retrieves all employees instead of just those assigned to the selected User Role. Ideally, only users associated with the chosen role should be fetched.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1.  Open Report Centre;
  2.  Go to any story report;
  3.  Select the 3 dots action button and click on the 'Share' action;
  4.  Under user> User Role > select any permission roles from the drop down menu and click on GO;
  5. You will see in the matched results that ALL users are being fetched, instead of only users assigned to this specific User Role.

Cause

This is a known gap for Story report. User role doesn't match to the filters applied in User Role.

Resolution

This is a known gap. There is already an internal request to fix this in next releases.

Currently only the Standard User Roles (“All employees”, “Managers Only”, “Non Managers Only” and “HR Manager Only”) will work as expected, i.e. it will list out all the user who belongs to selected standard role.
User role filters with the Manage permission roles (Custom Roles) will give all active user list.

Our engineering team is reviewing this, and any updates will be posted in this KBA.

As a workaround, the users to whom the reports need to be shared can be added to a custom group and the report can be shared to that group from the group tab in the share page.

For SAP Support Engineers, please check the internal notes also.
