3629044 - Forward-intact not working for merged candidates - Recruiting Management

• Forward-intact not working for merged candidates when using Forward as Applicant feature.
• When attempting to forward a Merged candidate, user receives the error below although all mandatory fields are filled:
  "0/1 candidates successfully forwarded. 1 error(s)
  Failure Reason
  You can’t forward this individual until all required fields are completed.”

Scenario 1:

1. Create a candidate profile with email A
2. Create a candidate profile with email B
3. Apply to a job req 123 via A and fulfill all forward-intact fields
4. Merge profile A and B, set B as primary one
5. Use Forward as Applicant feature to forward the applicant to a new a job req 456
6. Go to job req 456, see in the forwarded applicant page, all forward-intact fields are blank

Scenario 2, where forward-intact fields are mandatory:

1. Create a candidate profile with email A
2. Create a candidate profile with email B
3. Apply to a job req 123 via A and fulfill all forward-intact fields
4. Merge profile A and B, set B as primary one
5. Use Forward as Applicant feature to forward the applicant to a new a job req 456
6. User receives an error:
   "0/1 candidates successfully forwarded. 1 error(s)
   Failure Reason
   You can’t forward this individual until all required fields are completed.” 

This is a current system limitation.
"Forward as Applicant" feature is not suggested to use for merged candidate, please use "Forward as Applicant" feature first and then merge the candidates.

When you forward a merged candidate as applicant:

• The system attempts to populate the new application using Candidate B's profile data
• Forward-intact fields configured in the application template are blank after the forward
• The original application data from Candidate A (now associated with Candidate B) is not carried forward
• This creates a data integrity issue where mandatory fields may be missing

This validation behavior depends on which candidate's data is complete:

• If Candidate B's profile has complete data for all mandatory fields then Forward as Applicant will succeed
  The Application will be created in "Default" status in Job Req 456 and data will be populated from Candidate B's profile (NOT from Candidate A's original application)
• If Candidate B's profile is missing mandatory field data:
  Forward as Applicant will fail. The system will display an error indicating mandatory fields are not provided.
  The Application creation will not proceed.
