3629333 - Global Assignment Import Merged Profiles of Two Different Users - Employee Central

When importing creation of Global Assignment for a user, the import file used had an User ID and Person ID External that did not match. 

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

1. Importing a file to create Global Assignment for user A;
2. The import file had user A's UserID but user B's person-id-external;
3. Once the file is loaded, the whole profile of user A is shown as a GA for user B;
4. It is no longer possible to access user A's profile;
5. User B's profile shows as paused on Global Assignment

This is a system limitation in which the system will allow the import without validation and will merge the profiles. The user whose userID was used will merge into the profile of the user whose person-id-external was used.

This issue is currently under discussion, and there is a plan to prevent the system from allowing such actions in the future.

There are a few step for fixing this issue as listed below.

We'll continue to user the example of user A and B to facilitate the understanding.

1. Backup Report
   1. Go to Report Center;
   2. Create new > table report > Person and Employment Export
   3. Select all relevant data and generate the report for all data of user A;
2. Delete Global Assignment
   1. Go to user B profile and select the global assignment for user A;
   2. Take Action > Manage Global Assignment;
   3. Delete Global Assignment;
      Note: Depending on the business, deleting the GA may not be allowed due to configurations, rules and other reasons. In such cases, an error message may appear, or the deletion may be saved without errors but the GA will not be deleted. If an error message appears, you need to follow its instructions. However, if nothing happens after attempting to save the deletion, it is necessary to permanently purge the users and create them again. In this scenario, the step 1 mentioned above can be repeated for user B as well.
3. Permanent Purge
   1. User A's information is not longer visible and the permanent purge is necessary to create the user again using the same user-id and person-id-external;
   2. Go to 2545988 - How To Purge or Delete Users In SuccessFactors for the permanent purge;
   3. If the deletion of user A GA is not allowed in user B's profile, it is necessary to permanent purge user B as well;
4. Import users Back to the system
   1. After creating the backup and permanent purging the user, their IDs will be available to be included in the system again.

   3. Use the backup report to create the import files;
