3629592 - Error Message "Multiple approval definitions are not allowed for this entity" When Creating a New Sales Quote Approval

When attempting to create a new approval process for the Sales Quote entity, the following error message appears: "Multiple approval definitions are not allowed for this entity."

• SAP Sales Cloud Version 2
• SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2

1. Open the User Menu.
2. Select Settings > All Settings.
3. Go to Business Flow > Approval.
4. Select the Sales Quote entity (note that one approval process already exists).
5. Click the "+" button to create a new approval.
6. Fil in the necessary information in the Approval creation screen.
7. Click Save.
8. The following error appears: "Multiple approval definitions are not allowed for this entity."

This behavior is expected by design. For the Sales Quote entity specifically, the system only allows one approval definition. Attempting to create more than one results in the error message.

If changes to the approval logic are needed, you can either:

• Edit the existing approval definition, or
• Delete the current one and create a new approval process.

Multiple approval definitions for Sales Quote are not supported.
