3629813 - HANA Service Crash due to Multi-bit ECC Memory Errors (SIGBUS) on OS Level

Symptom

SAP HANA services (e.g., hdbindexserver) terminate unexpectedly, generating crash dumps and logs that indicate SIGBUS (Signal 7) events. The operating system logs (dmesg) show messages pointing to multi-bit ECC memory errors and memory poisoning. Affected processes are forcibly terminated due to uncorrectable hardware faults.

Examples from system logs:
[Hardware Error]: error_type: 3, multi-bit ECC
Memory failure: Sending SIGBUS to JobWrk...
MCE: Killing JobWrk due to hardware memory corruption fault...
The crashes may occur repeatedly and can be accompanied by unusually high memory consumption of the affected service.
