3629986 - Video in Work Zone Widget can not be embedded correctly

Symptom

  • Video is not visible in widget by using <embed /> HTML tag

Environment

  • SAP Build Work Zone Advanced Edition
  • SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Embed video in text widget
  2. Observe that the video is not loading correctly after refreshing the site

Cause

  • Due to security concerns, the text widget does not support <embed /> tags.
  • While the video may appear temporarily due to caching, the HTML code is not actually saved in the system. As a result, the video will not be visible when the page is reloaded. 

Resolution

  • This is expected behaviour from the system
  • We recommend using the multimedia widget to display videos to ensure proper functionality.
