3630173 - Not able to enter data on unbooked cells in a flat presentation hierarchy in SAC Excel Add-in

Symptom

A dimension with a hierarchy is set with "Flat presentation", the unbooked cells are not planning input enabled.

Environment

Sap Analytics Cloud, Add-in for Microsoft office

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Change the hierarchy to "Flat Presentation" of one dimension.
  2. Check on "Unbooked Data" to show the unbooked data for the dimension.
  3. Unbooked data cells show a dash character (-) in the table cell in gray which is not planning input enabled.

Cause

As per 2784901, starting with version 2019.07, data entry on unbooked cells in a flat presentation hierarchy is not supported in SAC and therefore it is not supported in SAC Excel Add-in either.

Resolution

As workaround, follow the steps below to enable data entry on unbooked cells in SAC Excel Add-in.

  1. Open the filter of the relevant dimension.
  2. Choose the hierarchy you wish to use.
  3. Select the option "Select Leaf Members Only".
