When activating a replication object in SLT related to SAP Central Finance(CFIN), for example "CFIN_ACCHD", there are error messages:

Application error in called function module
An exception was raised.
S:/AIF/ENGINE_XML:004
Records cannot be posted to the target system; see previous messages

The one to be considered is:

The error message is incomplete in SLT system if AIF is not available there. The complete error message can be checked at Target/CFIN system using transaction "SE91" and should be:

Interface could not be determined for structure &1
/AIF/ENGINE_XML004

Diagnosis
An interface in the SAP Application Interface Framework could not be determined for this message.

For the interface structure, no interface has been assigned.

System Response
The system sets the message to an error status (Application Error) because the message could not be processed.

Procedure
Check which fields should determine the interface. You may then do one of the following:

• Change the settings in Customizing for SAP Application Interface Framework under System Configuration -> Interface Determination -> Define Interface Determinationfor XML Interfaces and restart the message.
• Cancel the message and send it again from the sending system (if the data is wrong).
