3631059 - Controlling Editability of Fields populated by Pricing Procedures

During configuration of a Header or Item Level Condition, it is wanted to understand what configurations impact on controlling the editability of a field in CPQ System that uses Variant Pricing as source of information.

• How CPQ Controls Editability of a Field, when used as target of a Pricing Procedure:
  1. It is first checked CPQ settings for the user's permission group and quote status
     1. If that field is not editable in CPQ, check stops here
     2. If that field is editable in CPQ, CPS Response will be evaluated
  2. In the CPS Response, CPQ check flags for changeOfRateAllowed, if pricing condition is mapped as Rate, or changeOfValueAllowed, if pricing condition is mapped as Value
  3. When CPS returns the response, the condition is evaluated from appropriate 'level' (header or item)
• In case field editability is not working, it should be reviewed the following topics:
  1. Review if field is set as editable in CPQ for the appropriate permission group and quote status
  2. Review if field is added to layout and that Layout Permission are all set
  3. Check if in Pricing Condition mapping if condition is mapped as value or rate
  4. Check for the flag changeOfRateAllowed and changeOfValueAllowed
  5. If determination formula is used then it must be ensured that its value is evaluated as 1 in the runtime or CPQ won't even send a request to CPS when such field is populated on CPQ quote.
