Error occurs while approving the Expense report 'ABC'
Error message: Cost center 'AAA' does not exist, is invalid or not authorized
'ABC' - Refers to Expense report ID.
'AAA' - Refers to cost center ID.

Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Travel and expense work center.
- Go to the Expense report sub view.
- Search for the Expense Report 'ABC'
- While trying to approve the expense report, error occurs
Error message: Cost center 'AAA' does not exist, is invalid or not authorized
Cause
Error is throwing due to Cost center 'AAA' mentioned in the Expense report 'ABC' valid from/to is 01.01.1999/30.12.2000.
Expense report 'ABC' is submitted on 02.01.2021 which is not between the cost center 'AAA' validity period hence system giving error which is expected.
To check this, follow the below steps:
- Go to Cost and Revenue work center.
- Go to the Cost Centers sub view.
- Search cost center 'AAA' then see the General data
- Cost Center Valid From/To: 01.01.1999/30.12.2000
Resolution
- Change the validity of the cost center 'AAA' by correcting its end date, as it should align with the Expense report 'ABC' end date.
- Once the correction done, then try to approve the Expense report 'ABC'
Note: Hence it is a cost center master data change, if validity cannot be changed from the UI, then the incident needs to be created along with the end date to apply the changes from the backend for the relevant cost center.
