Symptom
While initiating onboarding from Recruiting, receive the following error:
“An error occurred while saving the HRIS data for the user due to the following reason:
Country/Region Specific XML file does not have format defined for national ID type National Identity Card Number for Country/Region.”
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
Reproducing the Issue
- Initial onboarding from Recruiting
- Checked the business process configured to run as part of onboarding initiation.
- Error occurs specifically under the step: Validate HRIS Data for user: "Country/Region Specific XML file does not have format defined for national ID type National Identity Card Number for Country/Region XXX."
Cause
- The format of the National Identity Card Number being sent from Recruiting (RCM) is different from the format configured in Manage Business Configuration (under natioanlIdCard_XXX).
- This mismatch causes the system validation to fail during onboarding initiation.
Resolution
- Please check in Suite Integration Tool what exact National ID value is being sent from RCM.
- Then, in Manage Business Configuration, verify that the field National Identity Card Number under nationalIdCard_XXX is configured to accept that format. If the value has hyphens, update the format accordingly.
- Alternatively, adjust the mapping in RCM to send the value in the expected format.
