3631639 - Where is the "Edit Query" button in the new model type in SAP Analytics Cloud?

Symptom

  • Suddenly, you can't seem to find the Edit Query button in SAP Analytics Cloud in your model.
  • The issue prevents updating the model directly, requiring the creation of a new model each time a value needs to be updated.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud 2025.8.6

Reproducing the Issue

  1. In your SAP Analytics Cloud, navigate to your model;
  2. Switch to the Data Management Workspace;
  3. The usual table icon (Edit Query) is missing from the right side of the "Import Jobs" section.

Cause

The "Edit query" button has changed location on the new model type. This may lead to some confusion.

Resolution

To find the "Edit Query" button in the new model type, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the Data Management Workspace in your model;



2. In there, find the import job whose query you want to edit:

  1. Click the 3 dots (Options) on the very right of your Import Job;
  2. Go to Edit > Query.
