3631969 - Balance Discrepancy Between the Amount displayed in the Absence Request Screen and the Amount in the Payout Screen

Symptom

  • Amount [Days or Hours] in the Absence Request Screen in the workbench is different from the amount in the Payout Screen
  • For example -
    • Absence Request Screen displays : 20 days or Hours
    • The Payout screen displays: 10 days or Hours
    • Expected behaviour: the amount should be the same in both places 20 days or hours

Environment

  • Employee Central Time Off
  • Absence Request Screen
  • Payout Screen- Self Service,
  • Termination Screen

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Access the SAP SuccessFactors Time Off Workbench
  2. Select the Absence Request Screen
  3. Select the time type (eg. Vacation)
  4. Check the balance available is x amount for Vacation (eg. 20 days)
  5. Request a payout for the time account type  related to the time type (eg. Vacation)
  6. Observe the balance on Payout screen is less (eg. 10 days)

The expectation is that the same amount must display for the the time type absence request as for the payout request.

Cause

  • This behavior is expected due to the way the time type is configured.
  • for instance there multiple time account types for a single time type, therefore the balance displayed in the absence request screen is the sum of the balance in all the time account type associated with the time type.
  • Whereas for the payout, each request is related to individual time account.

Resolution

  • For Absence Requests, the balance is shown by time type, meaning that if the time type has more than on time account types (TAT),  the balance displayed will be the cumulative balance.
  • For Payout Requests, the balance is displayed individually for each TAT.

Question:

  • Is there a way/workaround to combine Time Account Type balances for Payout request purposes?

Answer:

  • To combine payouts from different time account types, ensure that each time account is set up with the appropriate Payment Eligibility settings. If the accounts are eligible for payouts, you can request payouts from each account individually. However, the system does not support combining payouts into a single request; you must submit separate requests for each time account.
