3632022 - Item rating display issue in Enhanced Search Library page even if "User Can Rate" is turned off

Symptom

"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Disable the "User Can Rate" radio for an item.
  2. Perform an enhanced search for the item in the library.
  3. Observe that the rating is still displayed for the item.

Cause

It is because the item has been rated by other users before "User Can Rate" is made disabled.

As confirmed by Product Manager, it is a design change in Latest enhance library search.

In order to make sure that a transparent rating is displayed to end users honestly, in latest enhanced library page, the rating will always be displayed as long as it has been rated by users before.

Product Manager also confirmed that the design is open to be changed in future release if the designed is objected by most of the customers.

Resolution

If admin would like to hide the existing rating, admin need to revise the item.

1. If the revising operation is done via UI page, please disable the "User Can Rate" radio and then revise the item.

2. If the revising operation is done via item connector, please make sure the field "ENABLE_RATING" and "INCLUDE_PREV_REV_RATING" in the feed file is set to "N".

Then the newly revised item will not have rating in enhanced library search page.
