3632232 - Address Validity Error When Saving Project in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

When attempting to save a customer project in the Plan Customer Projects app, the following error message is raised:

• Message Text:    Address &1 not valid for selection date &2

• Message Text:   Sales document cannot be saved (see log)

This prevents the creation or update of the sales document linked to the project.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Go to the App - Plan Customer Projects.
2. Open Project ID.
3. Click on Edit.
4. Navigate to the Billing Tab.
5. Under Billing Tab → Item → Billing Due Date, create a Billing Due Date.
   • Example shown: Added a due date 04/16/2025.
6. Go back and click on the Save button.
7. Errors encountered:
   • Address &1 not valid for selection date &2.
   • The document cannot be saved.
   • Sales document cannot be saved (see log).

The Business Partner (BP) assigned to the project uses an address (e.g., Address ID 123456) that has a "Valid From" date after the project’s start or reference date.

Although the selection date shown in the error might be later, the system checks that the address is valid from the project start date or another internally derived reference date (e.g., billing creation or sales document generation).

Resolution
Update the validity period of the Business Partner’s address to cover the required project range.

Steps:

1. Open the Manage Business Partner Master Data app.
2. Search for the affected Business Partner ID.
3. Identify the address in question (usually found under “Addresses”).
4. Change the “Valid From” date to a date before the project start date.
5. Save the Business Partner.
6. Return to the project and retry the Save operation.
