SAP Knowledge Base Article - Preview

3632431 - Old version kernel is required at phase PREP_INIT/TOOLCHECKXML_UPG or PREP_INIT/DB2_CHECKNOTES_INI during upgrade.

Symptom

Non-solvable issue occurs in SUM Phase PREP_INIT/TOOLCHECKXML_UPG  or  PREP_INIT/DB2_CHECKNOTES_INI.

In check.log, there are following error message:

    Updating the download directory will not help!
    Contact the SAP Support!
  *  *Kernel Type:* exe (~/SUM/abap/exe)

However, the SAP system is using SAP kernel which is higher than the required kernel version.
