Resolution

When we create a PI Document, 'Planned date of inventory count' defaults to today's date, this can be changed to yesterday's date / last month.

Create Physical Inventory Documents

Change the Planned Count Date from (default today's date) to a date in last month.

Enter Material / Plant / Storage Location details. And Save.

Manage Physical Inventory Count

Locate your PI Document
Count Date of Uncounted Items = defaults to TODAYS DATE.

Open the General Information tab - change the date to last month.
Enter the Count Quantity. And Save.

Manage Physical Inventory Documents

Locate your PI Document

Change the Posting Date from todays date to a date from last month > POST.

This creates Material Document which refers to Posting Date from last month.

 *********

When creating the PI Document from the app 'Create Physical Inventory Documents'. If you choose the option 'Schedule Physical Inventory Document Creation' this is calling Job Template Annual Inventory: Create Physical Inventory Documents which is the same template being used from the app 'Job Scheduling and Mass Processing - Physical Inventory' - if we enter a planned count date in the past - we see the error M7834 Planned date for phys. inventory is earlier than today's date. We cannot enter a past date using the Scheduling option from this app.

If you want to Create a PI Document with a planned count date in the past you can use 'Create Physical Inventory Documents' with the steps as provided.
