Symptom
Story report cannot be shared to Users or Roles or Groups. One of the following scenarios is encountered:
- "Error while saving" or "An error occurred while saving your changes. Please contact your system administrator or Technical Support" messages appears.
- The sharing successful, the sharing is successfully saved, but upon reopening the Share menu, the sharing is undone and the newly added users, roles or groups are not seen.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
Reproducing the Issue
- Access Report Center
- Select a Story report -> Share
- Attempt to add an user, role or group to the sharing list
- One of the following scenarios is encountered
Scenario A:
- "Error while saving" or "An error occurred while saving your changes. Please contact your system administrator or Technical Support" messages appears.
Scenario B:
- The sharing successful, the sharing is successfully saved, but upon reopening the Share menu, the sharing is undone and the newly added users, roles or groups are not seen.
Cause
The report is shared to one or more deleted users, who appear with their GUID on the list of users the report is shared to as e.g.: R8C83304BF5F135F24DCE1B40C4BF410, this makes the sharing function not work.
Resolution
- Identify and remove deleted users from the list of users the report is already shared to, appearing with GUID-s e.g.: R8C83304BF5F135F24DCE1B40C4BF410
- Save the list of recipients after removing the deleted users.
- Add the users, roles or groups and save.
