Using preferred name to search user in Head of Division field in Manage Data<Division, user could not show up in dropdown. However, she is searchable in global search by using preferred name.

The "headOfUnit" field is designed to use workerFieldRenderer as UI Field Renderer, which lead to the user could be searched here by using firstname+lastname, user Id or Person ID  .

It is standard and could not be disabled.
