3634341 - The Checkbox "Is a Customer" is not Marked for an Account When Creating a Lead

When creating a Lead, the checkbox "Is a Customer" is not marked for the Account Party Role.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Marketing Work Center.
2. Select the New Lead Common task.
3. Enter the Account ABC (where ABC represents the Account ID).

The checkbox "Is a Customer" is not marked.

The checkbox "Is a Customer" is marked or not marked depending if the Business Partner (Account) ABC has a Account Role or a (Account) Prospect Role.

In order to confirm the roles associated to a Business Partner the following steps can be performed:

1. Go to the Business Partner Work Center.
2. Go to the Business Partners View.
3. Filter for All Business Partners.
4. Search for the Business Partner ABC.
5. Open, Select View All.

The Business Partner ABC has only the Role as Prospect.

The Business Partner ABC will have the Role as Prospect according to the configuration set in the Master Data of the Account.

1. Go to the Account Management Work Center.
2. Go to the Accounts View.
3. Filter for All Accounts.
4. Search for the Account ABC.
5. Open, Select View All.
6. Navigate to the General tab.

The Prospect checkbox is marked.

Threfore, if the Business Partner (Account ABC) has the Prospect checkbox marked in the Account Master Data, then the checkbox "Is a Customer" will not be marked when entering the Account ABC to create a Lead.

However, if the Business Partner (Account ABC) does not have the Prospect checkbox marked in the Account Master Data, then the checkbox "Is a Customer" will be marked when entering the Account ABC to create a Lead.

This is the current system behavior.

Therefore, if the checkbox "Is a Customer" is required to be marked for an Account when creating a Lead, it is required to ensure that the Prospect checkbox is not marked in the Account Master Data.

 This process can be performed as follows:

1. Go to the Account Management Work Center.
2. Go to the Accounts View.
3. Filter for All Accounts.
4. Search for the Account ABC.
5. Open, Select View All.
6. Navigate to the General tab.
7. Ensure that the Prospect checkbox is not checked.
8. Select Save.

The new leads created for the Account ABC will have the checkbox "Is a Customer" marked.
