3634614 - The error "Customer name not maintained" occurs when generating challan for vendor return

Symptom

Unable to create a delivery between the supplying plant and receiving plant. The following error message is displayed: "Customer name is not maintained."

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the App Delivery Challan for intrastate STO.
  2. Enter Company Code.
  3. Enter Sending Plant.
  4. Enter Posting date.
  5. Enter Material document number.
  6. Click on intrastate STO Option.
  7. Enter Receiving Plant.
  8. Select the delivery radio button.
  9. Select the line item and click on "Create Delivery".
  10. Click on "Display Log" to see the error.

Cause

Customer number is missing for the plant.

Resolution

To assign sending plant to the supplier in the "Supplier Business Partner", follow the below steps:

    1. Go to the "Maintain Business Partner".
    2. Select the BP role as supplier.
    3. Maintain plant in the supplier: supplier tab.
    4. Supplying plant assigned with supplier in this step.
    5. Assign customer to the receiving plant in the shipping data for plants (ID: 101926).
    6. Select the receiving plant.
    7. Go to details → Maintain the customer number for the receiving plant.

    Test the scenario again after maintaining the above configurations.
