Symptom
- Facing an issue with the Inclusion and Exclusion filter in the work center view "Supply Planning - Products".
- If filtering with Planning Group ID with Exclusion of a Planning Group ID, system is returning wrong result.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to the Supply Planning work center.
- Go to the Products view.
- Show All Products By Selection.
- Open Advanced Filter.
- Enter a specific value in the Search field.
- Click Go.
- The system returns 2 Results: One in the Planning Area XXX with Planning Group ID: XYZ, and the second in the Planning Area AAA with no Planning Group ID assigned.
- On the Planning Group ID field, click on the More Filters button.
- Check the 'But Exclude' flag and enter the relevant Planning Group ID to be excluded.
- Click on the OK button and then Go.
- The system is returning a lower Result than expected.
XXX represents a Planning Area ID.
AAA represents a Planning Area ID.
XYZ represents the Planning Group ID.
Cause
System behaving as designed.
Resolution
- Check the behavior and note that the Exclude function behaves differently when compared with Include.
- To have the query work properly, it is recommended to set the Include as 'Is Initial'.
