3634942 - Reporting - Application Date and Application Date (Timestamp) Showing Different Values - Recruiting Management

Symptom

Application Date and Application Date (Timestamp) Showing Different Values in Reporting. Usually, the different is between 1 day.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Resolution

Application Date will display the Application date based on the Data Center time. Application Date (Timestamp) will display the Application date and time based on the Candidate's browser's prefered timezone.

If either timestamp approaches 12AM, it may result in a date change in one field but not the other.  For example:

Let's say the Data Center is in New York (EST) and the Candidate's Browser's timezone is set as Los Angeles (PST).

Consider the Application Date happens at 10 PM EST. In New York, this is clearly within the same date, say March 14th. However, in Los Angeles, 10 PM EST is 7 PM PST. So, the same timestamp might still show March 14th in both locations. Now imagine the event occurs at 11:55 PM EST on March 14th:

In New York , the date will change to March 15th at midnight. In Los Angeles, it's only 8:55 PM on March 14th, so the date stays the same for some time longer.
