3635547 - Error message 'Access Denied' and 'Error ID: STENCIL_MISSING' when opening a diagram.

A user cannot open a diagram. The error message 'Access Denied' and 'Error ID: STENCIL_MISSING' is shown on access.

The complete error message indicates which stencil is missing, e.g.:You need the Extension <extension name> to edit this diagram. Please contact your workspace administrator.

The issue can occur, when a diagram was created by a user, who had licensed the indicated stencil or when the diagram was imported from another workspace, where the stencil was in use.

1. Let open the diagram in the modeller by a user holding proper license.
2. In the left panel under 'Shapes', change the stencil set to a general one, e.g. 'BPMN (Complete)'.
3. Save the diagram.

Please check if the mentioned stencil set is listed in the SPM tenant 'Setup' > 'Define notations/attributes' > tab 'Modeling language'. To avoid the issue, deactivate the respective modeling language subset.

Additionally, check at least one of the below licenses must be assigned to the user:

• Process Intelligence.
• Hub.
• Journey Modeler.
