3635571 - Error "Plant could not be derived" during intercompany billing request creation in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

The Generate Intercompany Billing Request app fails with the Error message: "Plant could not be derived.", Message number: PROJ_BILLG_ELMNT142.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the "Generate Intercompany Billing Request" application.
2. Enter the parameters for "Intercompany Sales Document".
3. Execute the process by selecting "RUN."
4. Observe the failure with the error message: "Plant could not be derived."

The plant for the material has not been maintained in the system.

1. Open the "Change Material" application.
2. Enter the material, sales organization, and distribution channel as specified in the error message.
3. Navigate to the "Sales: Sales Org 1" section.
4. Maintain the delivering plant for the material.
5. Save the changes and reattempt the intercompany billing request creation process.
