3635607 - Error "No authorization to start the UI for transaction" when accessing SSCUI 105518 - Activate Document and Reporting Compliance Features

Symptom

The error message "No authorization to start the UI for transaction" is encountered while attempting to access the SSCUI 105518 - "Activate Document and Reporting Compliance Features".

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Implementation activities App
  2. Search for the configuration activity - "Activate Document and Reporting Compliance Features" - SSCUI 105518.
  3. Attempt to access the configuration.
  4. Observe the error message "No authorization to start the UI for transaction."

Cause

Required business catalogue - SAP_CA_BC_IC_LND_GLO_GCO_PC is not assigned to the business user.

Resolution

Pre-requisite: Scope item 5XU is active and 'Deploy scope and organizational structure' is deployed.

The user has two options to enable access:

  • Option A: Create a complete copy of the standard role SAP_BR_BPC_EXPERT, rename it to Z_BPC_EXPERT, and use the custom role instead of the standard one.

  • Option B: Create an empty custom role, add only the required business catalog above, and assign this role in addition to the standard SAP_BR_BPC_EXPERT role.

Once the appropriate business catalog is assigned through the custom role, the customizing activity “Activate Document and Reporting Compliance Feature” becomes visible.

The following screenshot is how it should look like - however sometimes the role "SAP_CA_BC_IC_LND_GLO_GCO_PC" is missing in the SAP_BR_BPC_EXPERT. (Fiori App: Maintain Business Role)



 

The following screenshot shows how the Z-Role looks like, when it is used as an addition to the standard Business Role "SAP_BR_BPC_EXPERT":
