Symptom

Error message: "AB is not a number. Only numeric values are allowed." is observed for the parameter "IN_DEDUCTORSTATE" (DEDU_STATE) of the Form 26Q report in "Run Statutory Reports" application.

Where "AB" represents the state in which the company is located.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the "Run Statutory Reports" application.
  2. Set the filter values and click on GO.
  3. Select a reporting task.
  4. Attempt to generate the Form 26Q report.
  5. Observe the error message "AB is not a number. Only numeric values are allowed." in the error log for the element "DEDU_STATE".

Cause

The parameter "IN_DEDUCTORSTATE" in the configuration activity "Setting Up Your Statutory Reporting" supports numeric values only. Improper configuration of this parameter triggers the error.

Resolution

  1. Access the configuration activity "Setting Up Your Statutory Reporting" (SSCUI 101071).
  2. Select the reporting entity and the report category.
  3. Navigate to the tab "Enter Parameters Specific to Reporting Entity".
  4. Ensure that the parameter "IN_DEDUCTORSTATE" is configured with the applicable numeric value.
