3635945 - Using the 'Between' Operator for Postal Codes in Routing Rules

Symptom

Routing Rules using the "Between" operator on Postal Code fields do not return the expected results in scenarios such as Territory Routing to Accounts or Lead Routing to Employee.

Environment

  • SAP Sales Cloud Version 2
  • SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2

Cause

The "Between" operator is supported for String data types. If the Postal Code value and the operands in the condition have different string lengths, the evaluation may not work as expected.

Resolution

To ensure consistent results when using the "Between" operator in Routing Rules with Postal Codes:

  • The Postal Code value and both operands in the "Between" condition must have the same string length.

  • Letters, numbers, and spaces are supported, but only when the total character count is equal across all compared strings.
