3635978 - Automatic packaging material line items not created in inbound deliveries using SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

  • Automatic packaging material line items are not created when using packing HU in inbound deliveries.
  • The issue occurs specifically with standard inbound delivery type EL and standard material type VERP used for packaging.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

For outbound deliveries, automatic generation of delivery items for packaging materials is supported through configuration settings. However, this functionality is not supported for inbound deliveries.

Resolution

Refer to the SAP Help Portal documentation on "Configuration for the Generation of Delivery Items" for further details: Configuration for the Generation of Delivery Items | SAP Help Portal.

Note that the generation of delivery items for packaging materials is not supported for inbound deliveries.
